PIREPS - Airfields

Use caution if flying into Glenwood Catron County Airport (E94). Apparently, the county has dragged the runway and there are numerous rocks reported as of 4-17-23. There are plans by the county to improve this airstrip, so maybe this is the start of that.

As of 7/26/23

There is evidence that the county has rolled the runway. It is in the best condition I have ever seen.

The windsock is good. The entrance road from Catwalk Road has been improved. If Glenwood has an Uber driver, it would be a great way to see the Catwalk. Cell coverage with Verizon is good at the airstrip.

I did a flyover on 3-28-24, and the runway looked pretty good. It may have been a little wet and soft in a few places along the eastern edge.

As of 8/7/24

Stopped by to check on condition. Runway was pretty smooth with very little vegetation. What vegetation there was is along the centerline and about 10 inches high. Windsock is good.
